Soccer Game Preview: James Island vs. Carolina Forest

The James Island Trojans will head out to challenge the Carolina Forest Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

James Island is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand Sumter a 9-0 shutout. Given James Island's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked ninth, while Sumter are ranked 169th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Carolina Forest entered their tilt with Waccamaw last Tuesday with 11 consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 12. They were the clear victors by a 5-0 margin over the Warriors. Carolina Forest's winning goal came courtesy of Kassi Javetski.

James Island's win bumped their record up to 14-4. As for Carolina Forest, their victory bumped their record up to 15-7.

Everything went James Island's way against Carolina Forest in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, as James Island made off with a 4-0 win. Do the Trojans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
