Softball Recap: Whiteville Comes Up Short

Whiteville and Seaforth squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Whiteville had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Hawks by a score of 2-1. The Wolfpack have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Margaret Cartrette spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits.

Whiteville's loss dropped their record down to 10-14. As for Seaforth, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.

Whiteville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Seaforth, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 1-0 victory against North Johnston on the 9th.
