DeKalb won against Columbia City on Friday with four runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Barons narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Norwell Knights 4-2. For the Barons, this counts as revenge for the 3-0 win the Knights walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2025.

The team relied heavily on Drake Hall, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

The victory made it two in a row for DeKalb and bumps their season record up to 14-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for Norwell, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 12-7.

Coming up, DeKalb will challenge Bellmont at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Norwell, they will square off against Fort Wayne Snider at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Knights' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 8.8 runs per game this season.
