Baseball Recap: Independence Comes Up Short

Independence and West pushed the score to 19-7 the last time they played West, but on Monday defenses reigned supreme. The 76ers fell 4-0 to the Cowboys. The game marked the first time this season in which the 76ers were not able to get on the board.

Independence has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-7 record this season. As for West, their record now sits at 5-6.

Coming up, Independence will head out to challenge Walnut Ridge at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Scots will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last. As for West, they will be playing in front of their home fans against South at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
