Softball Recap: Pioneer Comes Up Short

Pioneer and Edcouch-Elsa squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Pioneer had to settle for second. They fell 11-7 to the Yellowjackets. The Pioneers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Yellowjackets earlier this season, when they won 8-4.

Pioneer's loss dropped their record down to 16-7. As for Edcouch-Elsa, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-8-1 record this season.

While Pioneer had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
