Preview: Priory Panthers vs. Menlo School Knights
Priory and Menlo School are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. The Priory Panthers will head out on the road to square off against the Menlo School Knights at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Priory will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 576th, while Menlo School is ranked 260th).
Priory pushed their score all the way to 55 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (59-55), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. They have struggled against King's Academy recently, as their game on Tuesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Balasz Nyikos, who scored 20 points. Another player making a difference was Noah Gallon, who scored 14 points.
Meanwhile, Menlo School suffered a tough 63-42 defeat at the hands of Sacred Heart Prep on Tuesday.
Priory's record is now 10-12. Menlo School's record now sits at 12-10.
Priory came up short against Menlo School in their previous meeting back in January, falling 69-61. Can Priory avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
