After losing to South Charleston the last time they met, Capital decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Cougars had just enough and edged out the Black Eagles 2-1 on Saturday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Cougars as it put an end to their three-match losing streak.

Capital was led to victory by Riana Berkley and Jada Fruit. Berkley had seven aces and four digs, while Fruit hit 66.7% for eight kills and six digs and five aces. Fruit is on a roll when it comes to hitting percentage, as she's posted one of at least 50% in the last four games she's played.

They weren't the only good servers: Capital was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 14 aces. They are 4-2 when they serve at least ten aces.

Capital's record now sits at 14-26-4. As for South Charleston, their loss dropped their record down to 22-20-2.

Capital didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Parkersburg on the 25th. As for South Charleston, they will take on Point Pleasant at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
