Basketball Recap: Peru Now 8-1 over Last Nine Games

Peru won against Pioneer last Thursday with 46 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Saturday. The Peru Tigers came out on top against the Eastern Comets by a score of 46-35. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Tigers also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2024.

Addie Robbins was her usual excellent self, putting up 17 points along with eight rebounds and six assists. Another player making a difference was Jacey Boswell, who posted nine points.

Loss or not, Eastern got some senior leadership from Marly Coan and Mackenzie Eagle. Coan dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 boards, while Eagle went 5 of 12 on her way to 15 points and five rebounds. What's more, Coan also racked up four assists, the most she's had since back in December of 2023.

Peru has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-9 record this season. As for Eastern, they dropped their record down to 1-20 with the defeat, which was their 20th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Peru will host Manchester at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Peru is coming into the game hot, having won their last seven games. As for Eastern, they will welcome Oak Hill at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Oak Hill's defense has only allowed 28.8 points per game this season, so Eastern's offense will have their work cut out for them.
