Softball Recap: Mountain View Victorious

It's playoff time, and Mountain View had no trouble coming through when it counted. They had just enough and edged out the Boulder Creek Jaguars 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Toros have posted since April 9th.

Daniella Gloria spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on six hits and racked up 12 Ks. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.2 strikeouts per game.

On the hitting side, Mountain View's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Dylan Davis, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI. That's the most hits Davis has posted since back in April. Another was Keelie Goodman, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

Mountain View always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. They are a perfect 11-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Mountain View's win bumped their record up to 21-11. As for Boulder Creek, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 20-10 record this season.

Mountain View has already played their next game, a 5-1 victory against Desert Vista on the 8th. Boulder Creek does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
