Kirtland is a perfect 3-0 against Cornerstone Christian since September of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Hornets will head out to challenge the Patriots at 12:00 p.m.

Kirtland was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-19, 25-21.
Meanwhile, Cornerstone Christian came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with three straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Spartans 3-0.
Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Cornerstone Christian took every set by at least 13 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-5, 25-6, 25-12.
Cornerstone Christian's win came from a few key players Kirtland will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Ashley Hansen, who had seven digs and four aces. She is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served three or more in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Hannah Gillam, who had five aces.
Cornerstone Christian was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 27 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 22 consecutive matches dating back to last season.
Kirtland's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 14-7. As for Cornerstone Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 12-8.
Everything went Kirtland's way against Cornerstone Christian in their previous meeting back in September of 2021, as Kirtland made off with a 3-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hornets since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
