The Harmon Hawks will square off against the Van Horn Falcons at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Van Horn will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Harmon extended their winning streak to three on Tuesday. The Hawks were the clear victors by a 17-2 margin over Wyandotte. The game snapped a strange streak: the last six times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.
Gibson Miller looked comfortable as he struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Harmon is undefeated when he allows at most two walks, but 4-6 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Harmon got a massive performance out of Izak Tovar, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs. Those three stolen bases gave Tovar a new career-high. Chad Taylor was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run.
Harmon always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .588. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Van Horn got the win against Cardinal Ritter College Prep on Friday by a conclusive 10-3.
Caleb Bushakra was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Brody Gray, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run.
Van Horn now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Harmon, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
Van Horn's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Harmon hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .355. It's a different story for Van Horn, though, as they've only averaged .250. Will they be able to contain Harmon's hitters?
Harmon might still be hurting after the 19-0 loss they got from Van Horn when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Hawks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
