 Mount Airy Christian Academy had to endure  an  eight-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They put the hurt on Varsity Opponent with a sharp  30-10 win on Thursday. That 20  points margin sets a new team best for Mount Airy Christian Academy this season.
 Mount Airy Christian Academy's win  was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from   Caroline Apolenis, who  scored five points along with 11  rebounds and three  steals. The team also got some help courtesy of  Madison Pier, who  scored eight points along with six  rebounds.
 Mount Airy Christian Academy's win  ended a three-game drought on the road  and  puts them at 2-10. As for Varsity Opponent, they have  traveled a rocky road recently, as they've  lost 12 of their last 15 games,  which put a noticeable dent in their 90-322 record this season.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mount Airy Christian Academy will take on Perry Hall Christian at 3:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another  in Maryland (Perry Hall Christian is ranked 247th, while Mount Airy Christian Academy is ranked 250th). Varsity Opponent won't have much time to rest: their next  match is against American School for the Deaf at 3:30  p.m.  on January 19th.
