Softball Recap: Airport Drops Highest Score of Season Against Ridge Spring-Monetta

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Airport). They were the clear victors by a 23-6 margin over the Ridge Spring-Monetta Trojans on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won eight games by eight runs or more so far this season.

Avery Ingram made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Ingram was even better at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three runs and one triple. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.

In other batting news, Ariana Feliciano was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Macie McCracken was another key player, going 2-for-5 with three runs and two RBI.

Airport was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The victory (which was Airport's third in a row) raised their record to 13-8. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.0 runs over those games. As for Ridge Spring-Monetta, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.

Airport will take on Lancaster at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bruins have averaged an impressive 8 runs per game this season. Ridge Spring-Monetta does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
