Calvary Christian waltzed into their matchup on Friday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They came out on top against the South Sumter Raiders by a score of 36-26.

Calvary Christian can attribute much of their success to Oni Abasial, who rushed for 75 yards, and also threw for 119 yards and one touchdown.

Another reason for the win was Calvary Christian's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for 4.5 sacks. Leading the way was Barrett Mauldin with two. He is on a roll when it comes to sacks, as he's now posted at least one in each of the last five games he's played.

Several Raiders players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Timothy Gaynor, who rushed for 92 yards and one TD, and also picked up 30 receiving yards.

Calvary Christian's record now sits at 7-3. As for South Sumter, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-4 record this season.
