Baseball Recap: White Pine Takes a Loss

White Pine lost against Needles on Friday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Bobcats came up short against the Mustangs, falling 13-3. The Bobcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

White Pine saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dylan Cessford, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. The Bobcats are 7-2 when Cessford posts two or more stolen bases, but 4-7 otherwise. Another was Tucker Maestes, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

White Pine's loss dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Needles, they have been performing well recently as they've won 12 of their last 15 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8-1 record this season.

White Pine will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Lake Mead Christian Academy at 1:00 p.m. on May 2. As for Needles, they will challenge Holtville at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
