Softball Game Preview: Wesleyan Christian Academy Trojans vs. Charlotte Christian Knights

The Wesleyan Christian Academy Trojans are headed away from home for the first time to challenge the Charlotte Christian Knights at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Wesleyan Christian Academy lost 12-3 to Cannon on Tuesday. The Trojans haven't had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Wesleyan Christian Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alexis Emery, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4. What's more, Emery posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Another was Mackenzie Smith, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Meanwhile, Charlotte Christian got themselves on the board against SouthLake Christian Academy on Tuesday, but SouthLake Christian Academy never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 11-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Knights.

Mogan Banks made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 14 over six innings pitched. Banks was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Anna Hinde was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three stolen bases, and four runs. Sydney Francois was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Charlotte Christian's record now sits at 2-0. As for Wesleyan Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Wesleyan Christian Academy beat Charlotte Christian 5-1 in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Wesleyan Christian Academy since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
