Preview: Morningside Monarchs vs. Inglewood Sentinels
Morningside and Inglewood are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2018, but not for long. The Morningside Monarchs will head out on the road to take on the Inglewood Sentinels at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Morningside is hoping to put an end to an eight-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Morningside suffered their biggest defeat since November 17, 2023 on Saturday. They were outmatched by Compton at home and fell 64-36.
Meanwhile, even though Culver City scored an imposing 60 points on Saturday, Inglewood still came out on top. Inglewood managed a 65-60 victory over Culver City. The victory was all the more spectacular given Inglewood's disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 513th, while Culver City is ranked 114th).
Morningside's defeat dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Inglewood, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-8.
Morningside might still be hurting after the 66-46 defeat they got from Inglewood when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Can Morningside avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
