Baseball Game Preview: Deshler Tigers vs. Hatton Hornets

The Deshler Tigers will head out to square off against the Hatton Hornets at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Deshler will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

Deshler is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 21-1 margin over Rogers on Monday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Tigers with their most commanding win of the season.

Meanwhile, Hatton came up short against Central on Friday, falling 16-6. The Hornets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Bryson Jeffreys made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. He has become a key player for Hatton: the team is 9-4 when he posts at least two runs, but 5-11 otherwise.

Deshler pushed their record up to 22-9 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Hatton, they now have a losing record of 14-15.

Everything went Deshler's way against Hatton when the teams last played back in February of 2019, as Deshler made off with an 18-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
