Softball Recap: Whitehall Comes Up Short

Whitehall was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Mondovi Buffaloes.

Regan Clatt put in work while hitting and pitching. She struck out eight batters over 6.2 innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. Clatt was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

In other batting news, Harlow Foss made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Taylor Johnson, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Whitehall's loss dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Mondovi, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-10 record this season.

Whitehall wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 7-0 defeat against Eleva-Strum on the 18th. As for Mondovi, they will be playing at home against Osseo-Fairchild at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
