Basketball Preview: Bucktail Bucks vs. South Williamsport Mountaineers
Bucktail is 1-9 against the Mountaineers since December of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Bucktail Bucks will be playing in front of their home fans against the South Williamsport Mountaineers at 5:30 p.m. Both teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses apiece.
Last Wednesday, Bucktail had to suffer through a rough 78-38 loss at the hands of the Indians.
Meanwhile, South Williamsport came up short against the Red Raiders on Saturday and fell 51-38.
Bucktail has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. As for South Williamsport, they dropped their record down to 3-11 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Bucktail and the Mountaineers were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, but the Bucks came up empty-handed after a 56-55 loss. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of South Williamsport's Radley Knapp, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 12 rebounds.
