Softball Recap: Moriarty Pintos vs. Del Norte Knights

Moriarty had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. Everything went their way against the Del Norte Knights as the Moriarty Pintos made off with a 26-4 win. The Pintos have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Knights, too.

Isabella Gallegos made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Gallegos was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-5.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Shae Rios, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and five RBI. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in hits. Julie Autrey was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
