Baseball Game Preview: Jefferson J-Hawks vs. Hononegah Indians

Jefferson is 0-10 against Hononegah since April of 2019 but things could change on Friday. The J-Hawks will take on the Indians at 4:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

On Wednesday, Jefferson came up short against Rockford Auburn and fell 8-5.

Tristan Andrews was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Sebastian Bracius, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Wednesday as neither Hononegah nor Boylan Catholic made it on the board until the sixth inning. The Indians fell just short of the Titans by a score of 2-1. The Indians' loss signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

Hononegah's defeat dropped their record down to 10-14. As for Jefferson, their loss dropped their record down to 3-11.

Jefferson might still be hurting after the 10-0 defeat they got from Hononegah when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the J-Hawks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
