Eastbrook had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They walked away with  a   6-1  win over the Jay County Patriots  on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Panthers also won the last time the pair played  back in April of 2024.
 Austin Mikel made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound,   pitching three innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. Mikel was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base.
 Mikel wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Kyler Hackman, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-3.  Malakai Luthy was another,  scoring two  runs and  stealing three bases.
 Looking ahead, Eastbrook will head out on the road to  square off against  North Miami  at 5:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Jay County, they will take on Elwood at 5:30  p.m.  on Thursday.
