Baseball Game Preview: Trillium Academy vs. Henry Ford Academy Navigators

Trillium Academy will head out on the road to face off against the Henry Ford Academy Navigators at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Trillium Academy has given up an average of 11 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Trillium Academy couldn't beat Hamtramck on Wednesday even though they stacked four runs on them in the first inning. Trillium Academy came up short against Hamtramck, falling 18-8. Trillium Academy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Henry Ford Academy didn't have quite enough to beat River Rouge on Wednesday and fell 15-14.

Kobe White was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with eight stolen bases and three runs. Henry Ford Academy is 4-2 when White posts two or more runs, but 4-8-1 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaiden Lynn, who got on base in two of his five plate appearances with five stolen bases and two runs.

Henry Ford Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10-1. As for Trillium Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 5-8.

Trillium Academy skirted past Henry Ford Academy 11-10 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Trillium Academy since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
