Softball Recap: Zephyrhills Takes a Loss

Zephyrhills and Gulf pushed the score to 22-5 the last time they played Gulf, but on Wednesday defenses reigned supreme. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Buccaneers by a score of 1-0. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Buccaneers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Zephyrhills has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 11 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-12-1 record this season. As for Gulf, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-11.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Zephyrhills will face off against rival Pasco at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Gulf is set to take on their familiar foe Central at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
