Recap: Douglass Trojans vs. Pauls Valley Panthers
This season hasn't been kind to The Douglass Trojans, who are still winless after their ninth game. They took a serious blow against Pauls Valley on Thursday, falling 48-0. Douglass has struggled against Pauls Valley recently, as their match on Thursday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Maddex Prince was the offensive standout of the match as he rushed for 82 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 36 receiving yards. Prince's longest rush was for an incredible 82 yards.
Douglass' loss was their sixth straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-9. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 14-1 Heritage Hall and 8-3 Marlow (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 70.9% over those games). As for Pauls Valley, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-3.
Douglass will look to defend their home field on November 3rd against Dickson at 7:00 p.m. Dickson comes in on a streak of failing to score more than seven points in their last five games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Pauls Valley, they will head out on the road to face off against Lone Grove at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. Lone Grove is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
