Basketball Recap: Floyd Takes a Loss

Floyd was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 59-23 loss at the hands of the Dora Coyotes. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Coyotes this season, with their most recent loss being a 55-12 defeat last Thursday.

Nevaeha Brown and Maria Garcia-Chavez certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Brown posted 11 points, while Garcia-Chavez earned eight points. Those eight points gave Garcia-Chavez a new career-high.

Floyd's loss dropped their record down to 5-16. As for Dora, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-13 record this season.

Floyd does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Dora, they have already played their next game, a 45-34 defeat against Melrose on the 26th.
