Last Friday, Cosby was fully in charge, breezing past Claiborne 39-7 at home. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 27-0.
David Baker was his usual excellent self, rushing for 150 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.4 yards per carry. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in rushing yards. Matthew Mcmahan was another key player, throwing for 141 yards and a touchdown while completing 75% of his passes.
Meanwhile, Hancock County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a blow against North Greene, falling 56-8. One positive for the Indians, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.
Cosby pushed their record up to 4-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. As for Hancock County, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.
