Softball Recap: Richfield Comes Up Short

If Richfield was riding high fresh off their 14-0 takedown of Delta on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wildcats came up short against the Carbon Dinos on Wednesday, falling 11-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Dinos this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-1 back in March.

Richfield saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mataiya Murray, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Richfield has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season. As for Carbon, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-14.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Richfield is set to face off against their familiar foe North Sanpete at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Carbon will take on rival Delta at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
