Basketball Recap: Porter-Gaud Gets the Win

Porter-Gaud won the last time they faced Christ Church Episcopal and things went their way on Saturday too. The Cyclones came out on top in a nail-biter against the Cavaliers, sneaking past 47-44.

Christ Church Episcopal's loss came despite strong showings from Sophia Mahfood and Ryan Hunt. Mahfood posted 13 points in addition to six rebounds and six steals, while Hunt shot 45% from the field on her way to 13 points and seven boards. Mahfood is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 23 games she's played dating back to last season.

Porter-Gaud's win bumped their record up to 2-7. As for Christ Church Episcopal, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 4-2 record.

Porter-Gaud has already played their next contest, a 53-36 loss against Bishop England on the 27th. As for Christ Church Episcopal, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 51-18 victory against Belton-Honea Path on the 27th.
