Basketball Recap: Okeechobee Takes a Loss

Okeechobee lost to Port St. Lucie back in December of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Brahmans took a blow against the Jaguars, falling 64-15. The game marked the Brahmans' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Port St. Lucie found their leader in sophomore Bryan Desgrottes, who almost dropped a double-double with 18 points and nine rebounds. Desgrottes also grabbed three steals, which is notable because the Jaguars are 2-1 when he posts at least three steals, but 6-7 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Isaac Sylvain, who shot 70% from the field on his way to 14 points.

Okeechobee has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season. As for Port St. Lucie, the win got them back to even at 8-8.

Looking ahead, Okeechobee will welcome Lincoln Park Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Brahmans will be up against the Greyhounds' rather soft defense (which has allowed 63.87 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Port St. Lucie, they will take on Jupiter in a tournament on Tuesday. The Warriors will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Jaguars surely won't give up without a fight.
