Softball Recap: Heritage Hawks vs. Georgetown-Ridge Farm Buffaloes
Heritage unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Georgetown-Ridge Farm Buffaloes on Friday, falling 16-7. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.
Heritage saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Faith Latham, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one double. That's the most hits Latham has posted since back in April of 2024. Another was Kaydynn Curry-Varner, who scored two runs while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.
The win got Georgetown-Ridge Farm back to even at 1-1.
Heritage wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 16-0 defeat against Westville on the 24th. As for Georgetown-Ridge Farm, they have also already played their next game, an 18-3 loss against Oakwood on the 22nd.
