Basketball Recap: Confluence Prep Academy Has No Trouble Against SIUE East St. Louis Charter

Confluence Prep Academy posted their biggest victory since December 14, 2023 on Thursday. Everything went their way against the SIUE East St. Louis Charter Cougars as the Confluence Prep Academy Titans made off with a 74-48 win. Given the Titans' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 186th in Missouri, while the Cougars are ranked 575th in Illinois), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Despite the loss, SIUE East St. Louis Charter still got an impressive performance from Kejuan Rives, who posted 20 points in addition to five boards and four steals. Rives is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last nine games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaylen Wiley, who scored 12 points and seven rebounds.

Confluence Prep Academy's victory bumped their record up to 6-10. As for SIUE East St. Louis Charter, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-11.

Confluence Prep Academy has already played their next matchup, a 66-64 win against Woodland on the 8th. SIUE East St. Louis Charter has also already played their next game (against Varsity Opponent), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
