Soccer Recap: Maplewood Comes Up Short

Maplewood played against Cardinal on Thursday and lost via forfeit.

Maplewood is on a 15-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-11. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 4-0 Bristol and 4-0 Badger (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 88.1% over those games). Cardinal (9-4-1) has been on a roll lately: they've now won nine of their last 10 contests.

Maplewood didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next game, a 1-0 loss against Grand Valley on the 17th. As for Cardinal, they also wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next match, a 9-1 win against Lakeside on the 19th.
