The Arcadia Titans will face off against the Centennial Coyotes at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Arcadia is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak.
Saguaro hit Arcadia with a five-run seventh inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Titans fell 8-3 to the Sabercats.
Brock Segui was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Arcadia saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nico Leale, who went 2-for-4 with one run.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Centennial). They put the hurt on Ironwood with a sharp 23-3 win on Wednesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.
Xavier Escontrias was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. He is becoming a predictor of Centennial's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is 2-1 (and 6-10-2 when he doesn't). Escontrias was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2025.
In other batting news, Dennis Carey was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and four runs. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Blake Baehr, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple.
Centennial was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .536. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
The win made it two in a row for Centennial and bumps their season record up to 8-11-2. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for Arcadia, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-12.
Arcadia suffered a grim 17-0 defeat to Centennial in their previous meeting back in March of 2025. Will the Titans have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
