Soccer Game Preview: Herbert Hoover vs. Shady Spring

The Herbert Hoover Huskies will venture away from home to square off against the Shady Spring Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Herbert Hoover knows how to get goals on the board -- the team has finished with four goals or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Shady Spring likes a good challenge.

On Tuesday, Herbert Hoover beat St. Albans 4-2.

Meanwhile, after soaring to five goals the game before, Shady Spring was a bit more limited in their contest on Saturday. They came up short against St. Joseph Central, falling 5-1. While losing is never fun, Shady Spring can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' West Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 32nd, while St. Joseph Central are ranked second).

Shady Spring's goal came courtesy of Andrew Bahr, who's now up to 15 this season.

Herbert Hoover's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-11-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 18 goals over those three matchups. As for Shady Spring, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-7-1.
