Basketball Recap: West Central's Victory on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Three

West Central extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Madisyn DeMoss. The West Central Trojans walked away with a 45-38 win over the Argos Dragons on Saturday thanks in part to DeMoss, who went 6 for 14 on her way to 13 points in addition to six rebounds and three blocks. She is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last seven games she's played.

The team also got some help courtesy of Macie Allen, who posted nine points. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in assists (three).

Several Dragons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ellie Bollenbacher, who had 18 points and seven boards. Alydiah Leed was another key player, putting up eight points in addition to seven rebounds and six steals.

West Central's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-3. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.3 points per game. As for Argos, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.

West Central will be playing in front of their home fans against North White at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. That contest will pit two of the most dominant centers against one another: DeMoss and Autumn Reif. As for Argos, they will venture away from home to take on Winamac at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Argos is facing Winamac at the right time seeing as Winamac is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
