Football Recap: Roosevelt Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Hudson Stehle and Said Kakish

Roosevelt extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 1-4. They lost 35-15 to the Beacon Bulldogs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Presidents of the 21-14 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2021.

Despite the loss, Roosevelt had strong showings from Said Kakish, who threw for 163 yards and two touchdowns, and Hudson Stehle, who picked up 50 receiving yards and one score.

Roosevelt didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Darren Garrett. Another thorn in Beacon's side was Andrew Caprioli, who made 22 total tackles.

As for Beacon, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1. Considering they have won three contests by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Elijah Epps continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 120 yards and one TD on only 14 carries, while also picking up 85 receiving yards and one touchdown. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in October of 2024. Jaden Jones made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

Looking ahead, Roosevelt will take on Minisink Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Beacon, they will square off against Cornwall Central at 6:00 p.m. on the 11th. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Bulldogs 12.8, the Dragons 11) so any points scored will be well earned.
