Softball Preview: Boquet Valley Griffins vs. Ticonderoga Sentinels
Boquet Valley has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Ticonderoga Sentinels at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Wednesday, Boquet Valley was able to grind out a solid victory over Chazy, taking the game 14-10.
Meanwhile, Ticonderoga waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They came out on top against the Patriots by a score of 7-4.
Myleigh Drinkwine made a splash no matter where she played. She pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. Drinkwine has been consistent recently: she hasn't pitched less than seven innings in six consecutive pitching appearances. Drinkwine was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, Addy Moore was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 3-for-3. Sophia Dorsett was another key contributor, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
The win got Boquet Valley back to even at 5-5. As for Ticonderoga, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-1.
Boquet Valley might still be hurting after the 17-9 defeat they got from Ticonderoga in their previous matchup back in April of 2022. Thankfully for Boquet Valley, Andrea Paige (who struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up five earned (and four unearned) runs off three hits) won't be suiting up this time.
