Basketball Game Preview: West Philadelphia Speedboys vs. Chichester Eagles

The West Philadelphia Speedboys just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Chichester Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Thursday, West Philadelphia was able to grind out a solid win over Mastery Charter North - Pickett, taking the game 66-56. The Speedboys haven't had any issues with the Pumas recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

West Philadelphia's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Xavier Howard, who posted 17 points. The matchup was Howard's third in a row with at least 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Smith, who put up 12 points.

Meanwhile, Chichester didn't have too much trouble with Overbrook on Tuesday as they won 51-37.

West Philadelphia's record is now 2-0. As for Chichester, their record now sits at an identical 2-0.

West Philadelphia and Chichester were neck-and-neck when the teams last played back in March of 2021, but West Philadelphia came up empty-handed after a 62-61 loss. Can the Speedboys avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
