After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Covenant Christian Academy, Centerville was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They never let the Franklin Hornets get on the board and left with a 9-0 win. Considering the Bulldogs have won 17 games by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Centerville's victory bumped their record up to 18-4. As for Franklin, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season.

Centerville and Franklin could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Louisiana Rankings. The Bulldogs will square off against Acadiana Renaissance Charter Academy at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank disadvantage (155 vs. 44). Meanwhile, Franklin (ranked 225th) will meet Thibodaux (ranked 85th) at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
