Baseball Recap: Sparta Comes Up Short

Sparta was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They came up short against the Conway Bears, falling 11-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Trojans of the 6-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Sparta saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brendan Brewer, who went 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run marked the first that Brewer has launched this season.

Sparta's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Conway, the win (which was their 15th in a row) raised their record to 20-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sparta will take on Mansfield at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Conway, they will head out to challenge Hartville at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
