Fans were treated to a battle of the Bulldogs on Saturday. Monrovia sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over Brownsburg. Winning may never get old, but Monrovia sure is getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Monrovia got the one that really mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 19-25, 15-10.

Derby P. Gilkerson paced Monrovia's offense, picking up 17 kills. Gilkerson got some help from Maddox Miller and his 25 assists. Gilkerson was also solid from the service line: he led the team with three aces.

Monrovia pushed their record up to 5-0 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Brownsburg, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-2 record.

Monrovia has already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against North Putnam on the 7th. As for Brownsburg, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Southport on the 9th.
