Basketball Recap: Southern Alamance Triumphs

Southern Alamance fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They came out on top against the North Moore Mustangs by a score of 64-52 on Saturday.

Kolby Kronbergs was a one-man wrecking crew for Southern Alamance as he went 6 for 11 on his way to 21 points and seven rebounds. The dominant performance gave Kronbergs a new career-high in points. Brandyn Gonzalez was another key player, putting up nine points along with five assists and four steals.

Southern Alamance smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in five consecutive contests.

Despite the loss, North Moore still got an impressive performance from Brady Preslar, who went 12 of 19 on his way to 29 points in addition to five boards and three steals. Preslar is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Colby Pennington, who posted 13 points and seven rebounds.

Southern Alamance's victory bumped their record up to 2-9. As for North Moore, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.

Southern Alamance wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 51-49 win against Cedar Ridge on the 3rd. As for North Moore, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 78-42 loss against Seaforth on the 3rd.
