Basketball Recap: 21st Century Charter Comes Up Short

21st Century Charter fought the good fight in their overtime game against Lake Central on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Lake Central Indians 67-62. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Monday (57), the Cougars still had to take the loss.

Despite the loss, 21st Century Charter still got an impressive performance from Terrence Hayes, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 13 rebounds. Hayes is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 21 games he's played dating back to last season. Lemetrius Williams was another key player, putting up ten points in addition to five assists and five boards.

Lake Central was led to victory by Zachary Greene and Noah Enyeart. Greene went 14 of 18 on his way to 36 points and five rebounds, while Enyeart dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 boards. With that strong performance, Enyeart is now averaging an impressive 8.1 rebounds per game.

21st Century Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 13-5. As for Lake Central, their victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-10.

21st Century Charter has already played their next contest (against Gary West Side), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Lake Central is taking a road trip to challenge Chesterton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lake Central is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.3 points per game this season.
