Baseball Recap: Fennimore Extends Winning Streak to Five

Fennimore had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Southwestern Wildcats with a sharp 9-1 win. That's more bragging rights for the Golden Eagles, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Ethan Sheckler was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and two doubles. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Tyson Starkey, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Fennimore pushed their record up to 14-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Southwestern, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season.
