Jett Lopez produced another solid effort throwing for 309 yards and seven touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes. He is becoming a predictor of Amarillo's success: when he posts at least three passing touchdowns the team is undefeated (and 1-2 when he doesn't). Tate Blackwell was another key player, picking up 112 receiving yards and three TDs.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Amarillo's defense and their six sacks. Kason Stroud refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself. He was another major factor on D, picking up 1.5 sacks, making nine total tackles (2.0 for loss), and defending one pass.

Amarillo's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 46.7 points over those games. As for Lubbock, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

Amarillo wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 63-21 victory against Tascosa on the 7th. As for Lubbock, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 42-35 win against Coronado on the 7th.
