Softball Recap: Rhea County Takes a Loss

Sunday just wasn't the day for Rhea County's offense. They fell just short of the Cleveland Blue Raiders by a score of 1-0 on Sunday. The Golden Eagles haven't had much luck with the Blue Raiders recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Allie Shaver spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on eight hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.

Rhea County now has a losing record of 11-12. As for Cleveland, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-12 record this season.

Rhea County wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 5-4 victory against McMinn County on the 5th. As for Cleveland, they have also already played their next contest, a 4-3 defeat against Walker Valley on the 5th.
