Basketball Game Preview: Prince Avenue Christian Wolverines vs. Hebron Christian Lions

The Prince Avenue Christian Wolverines will square off against the Hebron Christian Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Monday, Prince Avenue Christian beat Stephens County 51-43. Given the Wolverines' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 171st, while the Indians are ranked 396th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Hebron Christian had already won 13 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 50.5 points) and they went ahead and made it 14 on Friday. They really took it to the Lions for the full four quarters, racking up an 82-14 win. With Hebron Christian ahead 53-9 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Hebron Christian's victory was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 24-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.1 points over those games. As for Prince Avenue Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-9 record this season.

Prince Avenue Christian took a serious blow against Hebron Christian in their previous meeting on Tuesday, falling 85-25. Can Prince Avenue Christian avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
