Baseball Recap: Dora Takes a Loss

Dora had lost seven straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 4-12 to make it eight. They came up short against the Elida Tigers, falling 15-5. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, with their most recent loss being a 12-5 defeat on Friday.

Dora saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Roddy Neal, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another was Isaac Jasso, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

As for Elida, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. Considering they have won six contests by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

On Elida's side, TJ Kennedy was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and two doubles. Those three hits gave Kennedy a new career-high. Hardy Fraze was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs and two doubles.

Coming up, Dora is taking a road trip to take on Floyd at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. The Coyotes are facing the Broncos at the right time seeing as the Broncos are stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Elida, they will face off against Non Varsity Opponent at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
